HPQL Civic Association members Danielle Leek and Hannah Westergaard planted this tree as part of a volunteer effort to improve the tree canopy in the Highland Park neighborhood. It’s one of 30+ trees that were provided through grant funds and the support of the Chesapeake Bay Alliance, the Tree Stewards, and the City of Richmond.
Over twenty volunteers contributed over 600 hours of service to our neighborhood.
And so far… all of the trees that Danielle touched are still alive.
Go check them out. They are beautifully living in South Highland Park on and near 4th Avenue, Althea and Chestnut.
